5 Tips To Have A Productive Morning

Hello my lovelies! Happy Thursday! Today I’m coming at you with my morning routine. The place varies depending on whether I’m at Manny’s or not, and today I happened to be. I don’t know about any of you, but I happen to be a morning person to the max. I find that starting the day with a ton of work done and out of the way leaves my night worry free and I’m able to relax. If you’re my complete opposite and find mornings to the the bane of your existence, filled with groggy eyed slumping around, here’s my tips on how to have a #MorningWin.

1. Positive Affirmations

I’ve mentioned the law of attraction and how I incorporate positive affirmations into my day. I truly believe the key to making each day the best you can make it, and the most productive is to put yourself in the right mindset. How do you do that? Affirm yourself, your goals and talents. If you go into the day with the mentality that you can conquer the world, watch it bend down to you!

2. Get Dressed & Ready For The Day Ahead

If I’m in my PJs all day, know how much I’m going to get done? Zilch. Zero. Nada. I find that getting dressed like I have something to do, sets myself up to actually get things done.  If you wouldn’t go to work in sweats, why would you let yourself wear them to you “job” whether it be at home, or attending class. Productivity is a culmination of internal and external. You better believe that this includes your attire as well.  My favorite “work” outfit is pretty much a comfy sweater and leggings, which is a more acceptable version of flannel PJs I’d argue. Especially in this freezing Jersey Winter.

3. Breakfast and cup of Joe

I hate to admit it but I’m pretty hooked on my morning coffee. If I don’t have it, I feel a little ill prepared for the day ahead.  On top of that, I’m a huge breakfast person. The time of my breakfast varies on my day, but I live for breakfast food. When I have nothing much to do I’mm indulge on a little luxurious breakfast like pancakes or french toast. However on this morning I had a few emails to answer and a new post to write. I grabbed my favorite pack of belVita Breakfast Biscuits in Golden Oat , made an egg and an egg yolk and sipped my coffee, snacked on some blueberries. I love belVita Breakfast Biscuits they supply nutritious steady energy all morning long. I bought mine at Target a few days ago and was so glad I had them handy when we ran out of toast!

4. To Do List

I know that for some people lists are stress inducing but having a layout for what needs to get done is pretty helpflu in keeping the ball rolling instead of going on stumblupon for 3 hours. I wrote a post on breaking up a to do list into important, imminent vs. less important less imminent.

5. Take Breaks

I know, this seems anti-productive, but you can’t stay fully focused for more than 45 minutes. So taking a 15 minute break every 30-45 mins really helps to keep your brain sharp without feeling drained! During that break try to fully relax meditation or something that isn’t too taxing on the brain is best. I like to watch Youtube videos or click on Food Network for a bit. Either that or I practice productive procrastination: Instagram, Twitter, all things related to my blog without actually being work if that makes sense.

How do you start a productive morning?

Until next time

  1. I’m not a morning person by any means but I so wish I was.
I’d love to accomplish things before going into work so I don’t have to worry about them when I get home.
